Who do you think is/was the best president USA has ever had?

I would have to say that the best president which this nation has ever had has got to be President Abraham Lincoln. Were it not for his efforts and actions during the civil war, as well as those of Union soldiers, the United States of America and the Confederate States of America would still be arguing about the issue of slavery. If this were the case, American democracy could have never advanced to the level at which it currently resides. Thus, Lincoln was, in my view at least, responsible for the continuation of all the ideals which America stands for, as well as re-joining the Confederacy and the Union.
