The problem with censorship is it always sinks to the lowest common denominator?

I got violated by YA on a question asking if emotions are conceptualizations of basic bodily feelings. It seems someone of questionable IQ thought this was some type of ual question. Regardless isn't this the problem with all censorship? That it is driven by the need to protect the lowest, the smallest IQ, from things they may find to be offensive? And many times it won't actually be but those being "protected" don't know that?
