Question about reheating stew?

I've done the whole pot thing to reheat stew too. But why don't you get some plastic containers that you can freeze individual portions in and then empty it into a small pan to heat since you don't like to use the microwave. I bought my son 8 single serving containers for his apartment. (His roommates are using them, so I guess they like them.) In reality, you don't want to be eating a stew, or anything more than a few days in the refrigerator, so the containers might be best for you.
