What is the Evangelical (Fundemantalist/Literalist) explanation of Exodus 32: 7-14?

He couldn't leave them in Egypt. If He did then the pharoh would have the last laugh. But God gave us free will and that is what happened , they decided to make them a 'god' they could see. God knows all but can choose to know it in advance or not know it. And I beleive He is like us since we are like Him. Remeber, Lucifer? He was a perfect being like God and what did he do? I beleive that God and the angels are just a much older ciclization that has been able to conquer death and live , in some form or another, forever just as we will do when we die. God is human too.
